Artist Profile
Cynthia Mak is a contemporary artist from Hong Kong. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in the UK and working as a fashion designer, she shifted her creative focus to fine art. Recognized by global luxury brands and institutions including Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and the Hong Kong Museum of Art, she continues to develop her artistic practice, conveying joy and love through geometric patterns and vivid colors.
Exhibition Introduction
The Architecture of Joy begins with the idea that "where joy resides, dreams take shape." Cynthia Mak explores how the emotions we experience every day—joy, excitement, and warmth—can be expressed as visible forms and spaces. As visitors stroll through an imaginary city meticulously designed by the artist, they are invited to reconnect with the emotions hidden within themselves.

CYNTHIA MAK x TAI PING - FACADE CARPET III
- This piece marks Cynthia Mak's first collaboration with Tai Ping, Hong Kong’s historic carpet brand. Handcrafted by artisans thread by thread, the textile cascades from the wall to the floor like a waterfall. Rich tactile textures and painterly visuals come together in one space, offering an entirely new sensory experience.

LANDSCAPE VI
- This new work is inspired by Along the River During the Qingming Festival, a renowned 12th-century Chinese painting. Cynthia Mak reimagines a centuries-old scene through her own geometric language. The "Rainbow Bridge" at the center of the work serves as a quiet symbol connecting the city of human life with nature. The work shows how the old and the new can coexist naturally within a single image.
