The surfer is the rider on the waves, using his skill and experience to move fast using the movement of the waves. The waves have enormous force from the wind which blows it to the shore. The surf is built to hold the surfer but also it can be turned to get better position to help the riding. It is great sport of fighting alone against the power of nature.
David Gerstein is a leading Israeli pop artist who engages in a wide range of genres such as two-dimensional work, three-dimensional sculpture, and painting. He was born in the 1950s in a time when students rarely had an opportunity to study art. Despite his prodigious talent as a child, his parents were against his decision to study the subject and he continued to thirst for art. In his early 20s, Gerstein studied art in Paris, New York, and London, thereby appeasing his desire to create works. He continues to learn as if repeating an exercise and waits for inspiration to come to him. He produces works of art during the working hours he sets for himself.
